Another modpack not mentioned that I played so much as a kid was Hexxit, the exploration of that modpack was so much fun, I always remember kid me being terrified of the Limbo dimension.

I played a lot of Industrial Craft and related mods with my friends back in school Lost, but not forgotten times Cuttently playing "Create Live 5" (skyblock)

Tekkit bro! I remember how good I got at that game back then. So many different servers myself and friends setup. I used to be so good at that modpack, I had Red Matter by the end of the first day playing and full Gem Armor by the end of the first week. Power Flowers where the best and I remember creating a GIGANTIC farm of power flowers to create whatever, whenever. The wars that happened. I was so good at blackmailing my friends in-game with the Nukes i'd build under their base that had forcefields around them powered by wireless power and redstone. That with one click of a button could turn off the forcefield and explode the nuke. (We each were givin dedicated wireless codes so we never crossed each others). Those where the days. I ruled with an iron fist on Tekkit man. Still friends with all of them, tekkit servers where the one place we let Anarchy rule and never took anything personal.

I remember the first mod I installed was Apple trees mod and all it did was add apple trees 😂

Crash Landing is just impossible to forget to me, so many hours grinding and grinding was so satisfying. Many others like Forever Stranded, RogueLite Adventures and Dimension Zero also was in this list. Latelly I'm playing Craft to Exile 2, its pretty complex and have so many things to learn that I'm having a blast with its RPG system modded around path of exile.

Regrowth, other than Better than wolves has been my favourite modded minecraft. I tried to make a regrowth like modpack for 1.12.2 a few years ago. A similar general idea, but cutting out a lot of the fluff and giving it my own twist. Never got to finishing it, though.

I still miss the Homie-pack, created by slyfoxhound back in beta 1.7.3

I used to watch generikb’s crash landing religiously when i was in elementary school 😭

For me it was FTB Lite (As I couldn't run FTB Ultimate), then FTB Infinity/Infinity Evolved, then FTB Beyond and now AllTheMods for the last few versions

For me I grew up watching ssundee so when I think of classic modpacks I think of sky factory ,feed the Beast, crash landing, crazy Craft , blood and Bones, etc

FTB did do a modpack that is just like regrowth and it deserves a lot more traction than what it did last year or so. it's FTB Genesis, maybe it doesn't have the same feel to it but it's the same premise, you're stuck in a world that is a barren wasteland and it's your job to bring life to it. I think.

Blightfall is similar to Regrowth in that the world is corrupted and you must restore it by finding objects on the planet that help fight off the blight. That modpack was the one that made me want to get minecraft after watching a playthrough by @Thirtyvirus . As soon as i got Minecraft I played it trying to perfect what I saw him do but with all the fear of someone who hates being attacked by enemies in games.

I never forgot technic, i always have wanted to play it as a child but didnt have minecraft bought, and after getting it, i still haven't been able to find it on curse forge

God I wish these would be updated to at least 1.19... I remember watching the Yogscast when I was 10, Ssundee when he didn't make trash fortnite, algorithm-farming videos... Stuff like Thaumcraft, Sync, Bibliocraft, they're completely lost to newer updates now. That sucks. There's so many cool mechanics just lost due to these being gone. Sync alone could revolutionalise some things in Minecraft. I hope someone eventually tries and succeeds to faithfully update these and I can one day install them all and enjoy crashing my computer just like back in the day. The community deserves that at least.

Man, regrowth was my absolute favorite modpack when I was younger, along with Test Pack Please Ignore. Regrowth really was my introduction to minecraft modding and it did such a good job at it

I forgot what the name of the modpack is but there was a tiny frame in time between 2013 and 2014 where a modpack that contained mods like Biomes O Plenty, Ars Magica, Thaumcraft, Witchery, Moe Creatures, Twilight Forest, and more... got super popular amongst certain youtubers and eneded up making Minecraft feel very magical and fantasy-like....honestly my favorite type of Minecraft lets plays back in the days. Also one modpack that got super popular back in 2020 and quickly stopped being popular was RLCraft, it's like everyone tried RLCraft, varely made any proper progress and collectively decided to drop it.

Seeing all these old modpacks really brought back my memory of an old one from the technic launcher called blightfall. You start in a little bubble and it's your job to slowly cleanse the planet of blight using thaumcraft features. God I love thaumcraft as a mod.

so someone explain this to me: when I was on bedrock on Playstation I clearly remember the furnace minecart being removed from the game crafting recipe and all. so my question is how did this guy get a furnace minecart and if he created it what is the recipe if they brought back the cart

I started playing modpacks in 1.6ish and was able to work the mods together. The kids these days don't understand the struggle

I love Regrowth as well. I recently discovered FTB Genesis which seems to want to be a spiritual successor, but it just doesn't feel the same, sadly...

Tekkit Lite, there is still a German Server with up to 13 Players on a good day or even more.

One thing I love about Beta 1.7.3 is the lighting, modern minecraft is too bright, to stale, no ambient occlusion like beta, it feels soul less

the 1.7.10 pack is still iconic to me. had so many mods that worked so well together. also the days of mianite. my god how has it been 10 years since mianite...
